Friday 23rd November 7.00pm - Lucy Ward, Dan Walsh & Fay Brotherhood + a few selected floorspots
An evening of far too talented youngsters! Lucy Ward is creating massive waves just at the moment with 2 BBC Radio 2 Folk Ward nominations in the Horizon Award and Best Traditional song categories.
Dan Walsh is probably the best clawhammer banjo player in the UK at present. He needs no introduction as he has appeared at Kirkby Fleetham previously with both Will Pound and Kat Stevenson (twice). This time he is solo.
Fay Brotherhood (Guitar & Vocals) & Lee Burns (Mandolin & Fiddle) played at last year's Birthday Bash….. they back due to popular demand.

Saturday 24th November - Ewan McLennan, The Boat Band, Keith Kendrick & Sylvia Needham with host for the evening - Chris Milner.
Singaround from 11.30 a.m. to 6.30pm. Main Concert from 7pm.
Winner of several awards including the 2011BBC Radio 2 Horizon Award Ewan McLennan is an emerging folk artist that has been making headlines. His music combines traditional folk, with an inevitable focus on the music of Scotland, as well as his own self-penned songs that are receiving critical acclaim in their own right.
‘he sings beautifully, with great sincerity and great empathy, he's terrific!’ - Mike Harding
After playing for many years, trawling the venues of Britain and beyond, THE BOAT BAND have picked up a huge and varied catch of tunes: Creole, Caribbean, gospel, Cajun, Irish, zydeco and blues-not much slips through the net. If it can be played on accordion and fiddle (or trombone, washboard, trumpet, banjo etc), if it touches the heart and moves the feet, it`s in the repertoire.
Keith Kendrick and Sylvia Needham sing mainly English traditional and traditionally influenced contemporary songs and work extensively all over the UK, Europe and beyond with collectively over 80 years performing experience (and neither yet walks with a stick!).
Tonight’s M.C. and opening act Chris Milner has been performing in venues as diverse as Bars, Churches, Village Halls, Theatres, Festivals and Arts Centres all over the UK for the past 30 years. In recent times he has become increasingly called upon to play to a wider audience, and this has taken him to Ireland, Scandinavia, Germany and the USA.

Sunday 25th November - Anna Shannon, The Bounty Hounds & Nick Brooker
Singaround form 11.00a.m. to 1.30 p.m.
Concert from 2.00 p.m.
Anna Shannon - Scarborough’s finest! Anna is a wonderful songwriter and consummate musician. She’s been at Kirkby Fleetham several times before and has wowed the audience every time.
The Bounty Hounds are a rockin’ folk band from Suffolk who’ll blow the Sunday cobwebs away for sure. Appearing at Kirkby Fleetham in their “acoustic” guise (i.e. no drums- we don’t want to scare the neighbours!) they’ll be performing a mixture of songs from their own and others’ pens.
Nick Brooker is a local favourite……. fully deserving of his alternative name of “six fingers” due to his beguiling guitar playing. He is also a fine songwriter and singer.
